The aim of my project is try to understand the process of ageing and programmed cell death using the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model organism for study.  The understanding and manipulation of these processes in S. cerevisiae might contribute to elucidate the mechanisms involved in certain human diseases.   I am very happy to work in an internationally recognized laboratory gaining knowledge in the field of systems biology and meeting people from around the world.
