Personal text

I can not state my scientific interests without hinting to the main context of it! I am quite interested in the concept of sustainable development and all its aspects, including economical, social and environmental sides. This has brought me to the field of biofuels/biochemicals in my scientific career.

I started working on ethanol production by Rhizopus Oryzae and Saccharomyces Cerevisae during my bachelor. I continued working on biofuels during my master, focusing on different butanol production methods. Currently I am working on producing bio-butanol by yeast either as fuel or chemical.  The ultimate goal is to turn Saccharomyces Cerevisae to a 2-butanol producer by introducing the lacking pathways and removing the competing reactions.  I also look into butanol tolerance-limit of yeast and try to trace back the genes which play imperative role in increasing alcohol tolerance.
